中文释义：catch up 本身有 “赶上；追上；跟上”的意思。跟上你的朋友，自然就引申出了了解他们近况的含义。当你想和朋友 聊聊近况、叙叙旧时不要说 “Let's talk……”talk 是指说话、交谈，we’ll talk about this later可以表示我们稍后再聊这个（话题）。而要表示叙旧，聊近况，它还差点意思。这里可以用 catch up来表达。例句：I promise to catch up with you later.（我保证晚点跟你聊聊近况。）
