中文释义：hit the road可不是“敲打马路”的意思，实际上hit the road是一句很实用的美国俚语，其实就是动身，启程，出发，上路的意思，例句：We'd better hit the road, we have a long way to go.（我们最好出发吧，还有很长的路要赶。）hit the road也可以表示回家的意思。比如：Lois, it's getting late. It's been a great party, but it's time for us to hit the road and get home to bed. （Lois，时间晚了。这个聚会真尽兴，但是我们该回家睡觉了。）这段话里的hit the road意思是该回家了。Hit the road这个俚语沿用至今已至少两百来年了。有的时候，有的人也用它来命令某人出去，或离去，例如： Hit the road, Jack! 这句话的意思是：（ Jack，你走吧。）
