Bite the bullet

Bite the bullet: To do or accept something unpleasant, often after a period of hesitation;to accept something difficult and try to live with it.The phrase is thought to have come from the military, perhaps because biting a bullet was a common practice for patients, due to a lack of anesthesia(麻醉). As in I know it is really tough, but you have to bite the bullet and try your best to get it done.

At this point, I either give up and admit defeat, or bite the bullet.(到这个时候了,我要么放弃,承认失败,要么咬紧牙关去面对。)
